Quote from Stephen E. Robinson

I have been reading a book called "Believing Christ" that is so good. I just wanted to share a few lines that I thought pertains to this problem of the battle of the bulge. He is talking about the Brother of Jared and the natural man. He says " As long as we are in the flesh, we will have to wrestle with the flesh, with our carnal natures, and occasionally the flesh will win. ... We can expect this struggle to go on as long as we live. Each of us has experienced this opposition of the carnal self in one way or another. For example, from time to time I will tell my carnal self, "Flesh, today we are going to diet!" To which my flesh inevitably responds with something like, "In your dreams, Bozo," and then sets up the steady chant, "Hot fugde! Hot fudge! Hot fudge" This opposition of the flesh, the carnal self, is not something that we can overcome once and for all while in mortality. As long as we are in mortality, our carnal nature will be prone to evil continually, to paraphrase the brother of Jared. "
"My personal belief is that in the resurrection the opposition of the flesh will finally be overcome. In mortality, the spirit and the body are two separate entities forced to coexist in the same person. The mortal connection between them is both recent and temporary, hence they wrestle and fidget with each other. But in the resurrection, body and spirit become one thing. They will be inseparably united, welded together, and will speak with one voice--the voice of the unified self, of the soul in the strict sense. But until then, we must wrestle with a separate, carnal self. And from time to time, even the best among us, like the brother of Jared, will lose a struggle."
Well, we must all continue on in the struggle. It is not something we can overcome once and for all in this life. We can celebrate the times of motivation and success and then learn to pick ourselves up when we lose our motivation and fall down, and just start again. We are not failures, we are just in a battle with the natural man. We can never give up! We just have to know that it will always be a constant battle! Here's to the battle. May our spirit's eventually win! I love you all. I'm still praying for my motivation to come back. I'll pray for yours too! Have a wonderful day!!! Love alway, Kimberly

It's Spring Time!

Hey everyone,
I think spring time is finally poking out it's head around here. The last two days have been absolute heaven. Sawyer has wanted to play outside all day long. Needless to say I haven't accomplished much so far this week. Sawyer got a terrible sun burn yesterday and has some rosey cheeks. I guess it's time to get out the sun screen. The sunshine has really boosted my spirits and I hope the winter blues are gone for another season. I think the sun will help all of us want to get out more and exercise. I can't wait for our girls retreat it's only a month away. Hooray!!!
Have a springy day,
Love,
Tara

Where is everyone?

I think that everyone lost their motivation. No one has been posting and everyone has been lally gagging about getting their numbers in. I guess it's a good thing that this ends next month. I actually don't know if that's good or not because I think that we all still have weight we want to lose. Let's get our acts together sista's.
Love,
Tara

Sorry - this isn't skinny related

I think I have been dwelling to much on my own problems. I just want you all to know that you are all in my prayers and that I am here for you anytime you need it. Thank you for all you do for me. I am sorry if sometimes I complain to much and ignore your needs. Whether I can actually do something for you, or just lend an ear, let me know. I love you all and am grateful that you are my sisters and my mom.
P.S. Angie and Tara, I am trying to convince Brett that I need to come down there for spring break! Wish me luck!
