So, I was super excited to win for the first month. Thank you so much for all of your encouragement, support and congratulations. I couldn't have done it with out all of you. I can't wait to go and get myself something. I haven't decided yet what I am going to get, but I will be sure and post it when I do.
Here's my problem now. I thought that would give me some super motivation - it did the first couple of days this week, then I suddenly spiraled downward. I don't know if it was in anticipation of Halloween, but I had a very bad last couple of days. I did exercise, and I ate pretty well, but I also ate a lot of crap too. Why do I do that to myself? I will be extremely happy if I haven't gained anything on Monday. And now my house is full of candy. AAAHHHH!!! Help! Maybe I just need to go and buy myself something with my winnings and that will help. I am definitely glad that tomorrow is fast Sunday. I think I need to fast for strength to do better this week. I hope you are all doing better than I am. I promise to be better. I promise to be deserving of my win!!!

Kim-
I use that Greek yogurt in place of sour cream! No fat, and it still tastes creamy-umptious! You'll have to ask Angie for the homemade ranch she makes with it, yum!
This week I bought some Morning star farms veggie burgers from Costco. I don't eat them with a bun because then I can have a handful of whole grain chips or something. I just pile them with spinach, pickles, tomato, avocado, and some salsa. Super good! Good luck~ Now if I could just get my butt out the door and exercise...

Wahoo Shelly!!! You Go Girl!!!
Congratulations Shelly!!! You definately deserve it, you faithful excercise nut! Of course Angie and Tara are also faithful excercise nuts! (I am trying to become one!) You are all so awesome! Everyone is going down so this is working!!! I gained 3 lbs. while I was gone to Park City with Jerry. Isn't that just great. Now I'm just hoping that by Monday I'll be back to where I was 2 weeks ago. Bummer! Why does this have to be so hard?! By the way Tara, I bought the stuff and tried your snack and it was awesome. Thanks! Angie, just today Walmart had a demo on the greek yogurt and they are finially selling it. I bought some to try. I also tried to find the chocolate covered Altoids Shelly, but our Walmart doesn't carry them. Do I sound like I'm desperate? I am!@*!! Well happy excercising, dieting, skimping, denying, wanting, craving, and starving!!! Oh, and have a GREAT DAY!!! Love, Kim

Scrumptious Snack
I found some new crackers that are out. They are the Kellogg's Special K, multi grain crackers and they are baked. They are only 90 calories for 17 crackers. I have this with the light, laughing cow cream cheese, which is only 35 calories a wedge. (You can find it in the cooler, by the deli.) Yumilicious!! That's only 125 calories for a tasty snack!!

Losing inches and pounds
Hey everyone,
When I started exercising with my friends at the church, we took our measurements and decided we would measure once a month to see if we were getting results. We are going to measure officially tomorrow morning. But, I got a little anxious and measured tonight. I have lost a total of 7 1/4 inches. The most being off my hip measurement (i.e. my behind). The second place I lost the most was in my chest. So I can understand what you are feeling, Shelly. Anyway, it might be worth taking some measurements to give yourself a little extra boost. My friend Mindy said that one month she didn't lose any pounds, but lost a number of inches. I have also lost a total of 9 pounds since I started working out with them.
Love you gals, Keep up the good work!

Encouragement and Craving Busters
I think we could all use some encouragement. Just remember how much it is worth it. Kim on the bright side, aren't your clothes starting to loosen up? The only place mine are starting to loosen is in my bra. Why is that? I don't want to loose weight there! Why is that the first place for it to come off, I want my pants to be more loose not my bra! Anyway keep up the good work and try not to get discouraged - You can do it!!
If you are having a craving for chocolate, get some dark chocolate covered altoids. The cinnamon ones are my favorite, but the mint ones are good too. It is only 15 calories for 2 of them. Having the minty taste in my mouth after makes me not want to eat anything else right away. My other good find is Crystal Light popsicles. They are great when you want something sweet and are only 15 calories each. If anyone else has any great finds let us know! Love you all!

Tasty Snack
I just wanted to share a tasty snack that I enjoy. I like to eat cottage cheese on reduced fat Triscuits. Yummy! Last night at standards night I turned down a huge brownie with Ice cream and hot fudge on top. One of my favorites, but I resisted! You must know that we went to a friends house for lunch whose daughter had her "mission farewell " and I did eat a very small piece of cake, so I wasn't perfect yesterday. At least I didn't have dessert twice!!! Well, I lost 1.8 lbs which is an improvement over .4 lbs so that's good. I wish it was more though. It sure seems to come off slowly!!! In the long run that is good. This is a lifestyle change and I'm trying to achieve better habits! Well I gotta dash. Have a great day all you "Big Losers!" Love, Kim

Yummy Cheesecake!!!
Just had to make my confession to all of you. I really did make cheesecake for Jerry's birthday and I did eat a very large piece. But today I served him and Megan some for lunch and didn't eat a bite. I'm sure it was much less calories than birthday cake! Dream on Kim! I'm still eating too much for dinner but will keep working on that. I might even quit snacking so much if all the stress would end! Ha Ha!!! Well, just a reminder that some of you (you know who you are) haven't written on the blog for a while, or not at all (mom!) Better get to it. We are in this together and I can't do it without you!!! Have a wonderful day! Love, Kim

AHHHHHHH
Why do I do this to myself? Wasn't I the one who posted just this morning that I was going to push myself to do better? So what do I do? I eat M&Ms, a couple of Hershey kisses, a bunch of trail mix, and a bigger dinner than I should have. I feel sick. Mostly I feel sick at myself for having no self control. What is wrong with me!!!!
Push Yourself
This week I need to eat better than I did last week - so no making me cheesecake and hamburgers Mom! Although they were really good! I am also going to push myself harder in exercise. I upped my weights by two pounds this morning and I am going to try to push harder in my jogging tomorrow. I have been doing a lot better on portion control, but once in a while I still get the munchies and sabatoge myself with whatever I can find. This weekend will be harder because Brett will be leaving on the deer hunt and I usually eat lousy when he is gone. I am gearing myself up for it and I plan on loading up on the healthy foods so I am better prepared and won't eat the crap. I appreciate so much the encouragement I get from all of you. It makes this a lot easier! Good luck to all this week!
Some lost is better than some gained!
OK, so if you read my e-mail you know I only lost .4 lb. Well at least I didn't gain, which is what I thought I had done! With Jerry's surgery and all this week it has been very stressful and of course I eat when I'm stressed. I was very, very bad over the weekend. This should be no excuse. Stress or not, this week I vow to do better. Keep the encouragement coming. This morning I excercised with Jen, Kris, and Kate. I loved that post Shelly. It's how I feel too. Well gotta run. I'm a hundred years behind. And I also have a big behind! Both good reasons to run! HA HA! Love, Kim

Sisters
I know I should be writing this myself, and someday I will, but this post reflects how I feel about each of you! http://www.taryandlindasfamily.blogspot.com/ I love you all!! Good luck this coming week. Remember, I smile because you are my sisters(and mom), I laugh because you can't do anything about it!

Feeling Fat in St. George!!
Well this week has been awful! I've eaten horribly. I think I've given myself liberty since I did run a marathon! You would think you could take a week off right? Well I have had such a hard time eating healthy. I have craved all sugar, and fatening foods. I hope I can get a fresh start next week. I've only walked twice this week, I hope to start weights again next week. Lots of Luck to all of you, you are doing great!!!
No birthday cake? I guess I'll have cheesecake!!!
Thanks for the info Tara. I guess I won't eat any of Jerry's birthday cake next week. I'll just make me a cheesecake! JK. I have not been doing bad this week, but with Jerry's surgery this week I haven't made the best eating choices and I missed 2 days of excercise. His surgery experience was awful! I've never seen someone suffer so much. He was in so much pain after and having bladder spasms. It was horid!!! He is still really suffering. I will be so glad when this is behind him! We didn't get to bed until 5:00 in the morning. I had been up for 23 hours straight. I am still tired!!! Well I weighed myself this morning and have only lost .8 of a pound. I hope it will at least be 2 lb. by Monday but with things as they are this week there are no guarantees. Keep the encouragement coming! Have a wonderful day! Love, Kim

Cake Tidbit
Hey all. I was just getting Kelsee's cake ready for her birthday today and I started looking at the cake box and how many calories are in it. It said that their were 290 calories in 1/10th of the cake. Plus, that's just the cake. In the frosting their is another 140 calories in 2 Tbsp of frosting. That will really make me think twice the next time I want a piece of cake. That comes out to 430 calories. Yikes. I am going to try and just take a couple bites, instead of serving myself a whole piece.
Wish me luck,
Tara

Better late than never...
Hi ladies. Sorry I didn't report yesterday. It was crazy! This week I lost 6.2 lbs. This is typical for me to loose a lot the first week after not excersising for 2 1/2 months and eating really bad. I usually then slow right down. I also worked very hard canning and had the runs so that also contributed. This week I started my new excercise video with Jenni and Katelyn. It's Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. It's only 20 minutes so that is one reason I chose it since I'm limited on time. It does a 2 minute warm up and then 3 six minute circuits of 3 min. of strength, 2 minutes of Cardio, and 1 minute of abs. Then it has a 2 minute cool down. I love it because it is very simple. No complicated dance moves to learn. It has 3 levels. It will take us few weeks to master level 1. It's really working us! Our muscles are feeling it!!! Well I'm resisting sweets. Yesterday I ate too much but at least not sweets. Today I will be back on portion control. Tomorrow I take Jerry to Payson to get his kidney stone removed hopefully. By the way mom, you better write soon on this blog!!! Well good luck. Don't give up. "Tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes in it" Miss Shirley- Anne of Green Gables. Love ya tons! Kim

New Week
Hey everyone,
Here we go for another week. I lost 3 pounds last week and 3 the week before. I am hoping to get another 3 this week. I went to my exercise class this morning and I have been eating good so far today. Good luck everyone.
Tip: Don't deny yourself anything. Just only take a few bites.
Love you guys. Oh, and way to go Angie on the Marathon. You're my hero!!

You Guys Are Awesome!!!
You guys are the best! Thank you so much for posting. It's so nice to sit down at the end of a day of doing 37 pints of plum syrup and 58 quarts of Salsa Verde Sauce and read your posts. Your posts help me more than anything! I think I lost 10 lbs. today (jk) lugging heavy canners up and down the stairs in my garage! Good exercise. I also walked to the post office and back. I laughed so hard at your picture and the story of the stuff you put in your van Melissa. Also your story Tara about the dishes in the oven. Great ideas!!! I just stuff everything in my sewing room and shut the door. It's getting bad! I wish I could come to your race Angie. Good luck. Don't die because I would miss you very much!!! You are my inspiration! Some day I'm going to be in shape, but never as in shape as you! Hey did any of you decide about Time Out For Women? Let me know. By the way mom, you have to post on this blog every week so you better hurry. Time is running out!!! We want to hear from you! Good luck Melissa with packing and moving. I wish I could help you. I could tend the babies for a few days if someone could bring them to me. That recipe looks great Jill. Sometime I'll try it. Well I gotta go. My kids are still up, of course and it's after ten.. Love ya tons!!!
Way to go!
Good job everyone on almost finishing your first week. I still haven't got the application ready. I have had a bunch of fruit that I had to take care of this week or it would go bad. I also made Salsa Verde today from green tomatoes. Thanks for the Recipe Kim. I am so thrilled to see the scale finally taking a turn down instead of up. I hope that I can keep up the momentum.
I will try and finish the application this weekend or early next week when things slow down.
Melissa, my heck, I didn't know you were going through so much. You should have called me. Did those people end up wanting your house?? Have you heard anything on the house up north? I have to confess that I threw a bunch of dishes in my oven once when our realator brought some people by and gave me 5 minutes notice.
Keep up the good work. Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it.

So sad.
Tuesday really threw me for a loop as I got a call from a realtor saying she had some people who wanted to rent my house and they wanted to move in Oct. 6-9th. That's in a WEEK! What the crap! I told her heck no, but we'd consider a few weeks. I couldn't sleep that night. I was sick to my stomach and kept crying. I had to finally take a unisom and watch T.V. until I dozed off. I knew the move was coming, and I am excited to be back up North, I am just so sad to leave this house and this area. I love it down here.
I had to have the house ready to show this morning and I have been up 'til 1:00am two nights in a row getting it there. Thanks Ang for taking my wreckers yesterday so I could clean. I bet you are all wondering how I tackled, my pantry, my storage closet, my toy room, the kids closets, and my piles to heaven. I did all that I could do, and then in desperation I shoved the rest of it into the car and shut the door! Now, hopefully the car starts on fire and all the evidence is destroyed!
The point of this long story, you may be asking. Stress= bad eating. Sorry ladies...maybe next week will be better. I love you all!
Melissa
P.S. I like the blog background Angie
Angie, I love the color added to the blog - it brightened my day a bit. I don't know how to do that kind of stuff so I am glad you thought to do it. I also love your tip, but I haven't been able to find that yogurt at Costco. I look everytime I go, is it in a special section? Good luck on the marathon! I wish I could come down and see you like I did last time. I am sure you will do great.
Ladies I hope you all are doing well! This week has gone pretty well. I taught joy school this week so my excercise schedule has been off, but I have still managed to do something everyday. I didn't do so well when I ate Samantha's leftover cake at a wedding reception, but other than that things have been okay! I am going to try Jill's recipe, and I found another one that looks good - If it turns out I will pass it on! I hope you all have a great day! I love you all!!!

We can Do It!
Way to go Ladies. The biggest challenge is over, that is starting. This week I have been carb loading for the marathon, so I wouldn't be surprised if I gain weight. It will be nice to have it over with. My tip for the week is this- Get the Plain all natural Greek yogurt from costco. The brand is Fage. It has 20 g. of protein in one serving and it's fat free. I then add a packet of Stevia (a great sweetner, that is not bad for you) and some frozen blueberries. This is a great treat. Keep up the good work. Love, Angie
P.S. Our blog needed a little color.
